Ironman Edge

Postby Sapper7 on Mon Jul 14, 2008 9:20 pm

Is anyone interested in triathlon? Some of us are planning on doing Ironman Coeur d’Alene 2010. That means next year we will probably do a sprint triathlon in the spring and a half Ironman in the fall. Maybe even a winter marathon.

Race distances:

Sprint ¼ mile Swim
12 mile Bike
3 Mile Run

Half Iron
1.2 mile Swim
56 mile Bike
13.1 mile Run

Full Ironman
2.4 mile Swim
112 mile Bike
26.2 mile Run(Marathon)

I'd love to be in that kind of shape. I don't have a road bike though. That could be a problem.

Gernns, eventually you will need one, but not right away. You can train on a mountain bike for a little while.

For those who are interested, now is a good time to work on swim technique. The master swim program at the Liberty Lake Athletic Club is $40/month. We meet Monday and Wednesday from 17:30-18:30. Right now the class is small and you will receive more individual instruction from the coach.
