Blizzard Caps

Postby Arkady on Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:10 pm

These are great for protecting the lens of your Red Dot or scope from taking a direct hit or just keeping dirt and debris away from the lens! They make them in clear or yellow lens material. Blizzard Caps also sells the solid type, which don't allow you to view through them, but have the advantage of being more solid in construction. With a red-dot sight, having the objective lens covered is not an issue as you shoot with both eyes open anyhow; you can still see your target.

These are flip-up style, obviously, but for paintball just leave them locked in place. Note: proper sizing to your sight bell is very important, otherwise you could end up with a size too small or too big. If it's too small, the lens will flip up of it's own accord as it won't latch properly. You can find these at any sporting goods store for about $6 -$8 each, and everyone I've tried pretty much lets you take your sight in and try on different caps till you find one that fits right. I've been using these for years on my hunting scopes, so I could recommend them for paintball.

These can also work really well for protecting the lens of your tac light. Just have to find the right size for the bezel diameter of you light.

Ah true, I didn't think of that option!

Sweet! Glad I saw this. It's a real pain trying to keep that thing as clean as possible when you have paint splattering all over it. Nice find.
